FAQ

What’s the best age to start piano lessons?

Around age 6 is a good time to start. At this age, children typically have the finger strength and maturity to understand lesson expectations. If a student is too young, they most likely haven’t developed enough strength to play the piano comfortably.

Do I need an instrument at home?

Yes. From the first lesson, students need an instrument to practise at home. It can be an acoustic piano or a digital piano/keyboard, as long as it has fully weighted keys and is touch sensitive (responds to how heavy or light you press).

Do you offer free trial lessons?

No. Trial lessons are charged as a single lesson at my regular rate. However, there’s no long-term commitment required. If you sign up within a week of the trial, your 10th lesson (excluding the trial) is free.

Regular lessons are billed monthly. Please refer to Studio Policy for more detail.

Do I need to attend my child’s lessons?

It’s helpful to attend early lessons to support routine-building, but it’s not required. You’re always welcome to join.

Can adults with no music background take lessons?

Absolutely!
